FACE TO FACE MOVIE POSTER

Zapcity Creative just completed the official poster for acclaimed Australian film director Michael Rymer(of the US TV series Battlestar Gallatica fame), latest feature film "Face To Face" staring Vince Colisimo, Mathew Newton and Sigrid Thornton. Find the official website here.

SOJO PHOTO SHOOT

Just completed Art Direction duties for Sojo underwear for their Spring/Summer catalogue photoshoot.

First step was to come up with a visual style, concept and look for the new brand that wasn’t going to get it confused with any of the current popular brands on the market. Most importantly for me was to not seem like we were emulating their same campaigns, even though we are looking at hitting the same demographic. Client was very responsive to our first proposal and from there we could go ahead and define locations and models.

Working from an extremely tight budget, the biggest challenge was securing 3 models that represented the style of the campaign that fitted within the budget.

Deadline for a shoot date was quickly upon us, so we fitted in a few days of tests shoots to audition a very select number of models and present those to the client for a final decision. With a beautiful shoot location locked in in a small town near Dalyesford we where set.

Shoot day was going to be tight, over 25 garment changes, shooting all in natural light meant we had to start early and race against the clock before sunset.

We chose to shoot with two photographers shooting simultaneously from different angles to maximise our choices in post, with Dennys Illic shooting main camera and myself in a supporting role shooting from different angles to capture those incidental and often very unique frames.

The weather was not kind to us, most of all it wasnt kind to our poor models braving it out in elements. But in the end it added to the wonderful mood of the location.

Final shots where taken in the light rain just as sun was setting… long and busy day for all.. but we packed a lot in with smiles all around… very very successful shoot.

FIEND MAGAZINE

After a successful year and a half as Creative Director for local fashion and music magazine 'Fiend', ZapCity's Dante Sapienza has left the role to concentrate on other projects. In the past year and a half the magazine has gone from a small black and white magazine to a professional full colour and successful publication. A thank you to the Fiend team who have put in a lot of work to create what Fiend is today.
